The 2021 F.S.R.A. / Wintec Racing

F350 / Post Classic / Pre-Injection Championship

Round 4 - Mallory Park

Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th July

Rob Fisher / Sarah Stokoe (600 Baker Yamaha) - F2; and Simon Horton / Jordan Forrest (1200 Wintec Suzuki) - F1, both took maximum points in their respective classes over the weekend, with dominant victories in all four of their outings. In hot weather and near-perfect racing conditions for their two races each day, teams competed over eight laps on Saturday, and ten laps on Sunday.

The F.S.R.A. / Wintec Racing Pre-Injection class raced alongside the E.M.R.A. club sidecars, filling the capacity grid of twenty four sidecars.

Fisher / Stokoe managed to change engines on the Sunday between races after their gearbox failed on the last lap of race one (the Phil Dongworth Memorial Trophy), whilst attempting to beat allcomers in their modern lwb fuel injected F600 outfits. In the F2 class, giving chase were the closely matched young novice teams of Liam & James Saunders (600 Ireson Yamaha); and Bob Dawson / Sarah Hulme (600 Derbyshire Yamaha). They had been fighting for the remaining podium positions throughout the weekend, with the Saunders brothers just clinching second places by fractions of a second each time, until sadly Dawson’s clutch failed in the last race.

In the F1 class, Wintec Racing were fielding three big capacity Japanese engined fourstroke outfits in conventional short wheelbase chassis. They were headed by Horton / Forrest; and backed up by Dave Crawford / Dave Baxter (1200 FJ Yamaha) and Martin Best / Maverick Davies (1100 Suzuki), and in that order these teams filled out the podium in race one. After resolving an issue with a defective fuel pump in the first race, Dave Tibbles / Raitch Greenwood (1127 Broadstock Suzuki) managed to split the top two Wintec teams, claiming three second places in the remaining encounters.

It was good to see some new teams joining us and hopefully new and old teams will get their entries in early for the next two rounds – B.M.C.R.C. Cadwell Sidecar revival: 6/7/8 August; and the Battle of Britain meeting – D.D.M.C.: 21/22 August at Croft. Both these meetings entries are now live on their websites, and registered teams have had all information sent by email relating to these events.
