Next weekend – the 21st and 22nd September will see fourteen Pre-Injection sidecar teams head for Mallory Park for the fifth and penultimate round of the F.S.R.A. / Lane Building Services Championship.
The E.M.R.A. club have received sufficient entries to allow this new and growing sidecar class their own grid, to be contested over three races during the weekend. In the F2 class, father and son Jody and Reece Sims (600 FZR Yamaha) will be trying to catch the runaway series leaders, Rob Fisher / Rick Long (600 Baker Yamaha). However, the second and third places in the F2 class have been thrown wide open with both the Chandler brothers and Hayley Christie sadly announcing unforeseen early season retirements. The Chasing pack of five teams all on 600cc engines are all in with a chance of claiming a podium championship position with a hatful of points up for grabs not only at Mallory Park, but also Anglesey over the weekend of the 12th and 13th October.
The F1 class is being contested rather more closely, with Dave Tibbles / Raitch Greenwood (FJ1100 Yamaha) having a slim nine point lead over Wes Pettman / Ben Robinson (720 Windle Thundercat). In third place in the standings, Steve Alexander / Steve Woolcott (Kawasaki GPZ 1000) have competed with consistency and reliability all year, picking up points at every round. New to the series this weekend are Kenny Howles / Steve Sanderson (750 Ireson Suzuki), and coming returnees Simon Horton /Adam Buxton (1100 Wintec Suzuki) are both expected to challenge the series leaders.
Thanks as always go to the host club – E.M.R.A., along with the F.S.R.A. and for the ongoing support of the series sponsors – Adrian Lane Building Services and Pagid Brakes.
