The 2017 season came into the final round, and with all of the top three championship placings to decide, the pressure was on the teams in contention for honours. The planned four races were unfortunately reduced to three due to incidents and daylight issues, but this in the end had no effect on the final championship positions - if the fourth race had gone ahead the top three teams had only to finish to keep their standings.
Twelve F.S.R.A. / Lane Building Services Championship F350 / Post Classic / Pre-Injection registered teams were entered, along with three additional wild card pairings made it fifteen in total vying for race victories.
Wesley Pettman / Lee Saunders on their 600 Windle Thundercat took a slender win from wild cards John Chandler / Lizzie Quinlan, riding their recently acquired ex-Bruce Moore Ireson R6. Father and son Jody and Reece Sims (FZR600) came home third, but took the second points place just in front of Hayley Capewell / Helen Deeley (Windle Thundercat). Next was Dave Tibbles / Raitch Greenwood (FJ1100). The remaining order comprised of: Marianne Walford, Ian Sutcliffe and Gerald Hodgsonmpionship points.
The second race on Saturday unfortunately was postponed until Sunday morning due to bad light. Wild cards Chandler / Quinlan took the win, with the finishers from second onwards all taking points in the F.S.R.A. / Lane Building Services Championship. The finishing order was: Pettman; Capewell; Sims; Greg Noble / Bob Sztanjert (TZ750 Yamaha); Mark Burns / Steven Winfrow (900 Baker Honda); Walford and Hodgson. Greg Noble had changed machines to his Bruce Ford Dunn TZ Yamaha, after the Windle TZ700 Yamaha had encountered problems on the previous day. Burns had also endured problems and had changed engines overnight.
The Lane Building Services trophy race, winners were Noble / Sztajnert. In second were Pettman / Saunders and third Capewell / Deeley. The remaining championship finishers and scoring points were: Sims; Burns; Walford; Tibbles and Sutcliffe
